Active Trade Deadline for the Bulls

As a Bulls fan all I can say is wow. It's been a long time since the Bulls have been this aggressive at the trade deadline. All Bulls fans should write a thank you letter to Arturas Karnisovas (AK) for this. He is bringing the change that this organization has needed for quite some time. In total the Bulls made three trades yesterday but none was bigger then the one for Nikola Vucevic. He will now join LaVine as the second all star on this teams roster. This deadline brought tons of roster change to the Bulls and it was all needed. It was proven that the former roster could not win as it was constructed.  I can't state how appreciative I am of AK for bringing this change. The former management duo of Gar Forman and John Paxson would have never done anything like this. This is a new era of Bulls basketball and as a fan I couldn't be more excited. I understand that it may take some time to turn this franchise into a winning one, but it now feels like we're on the right p...

March Madness - The Best Weekend in Sports

This past weekend is undeniably the best weekend in all of sports. Even people who don't follow college basketball can get into this weekend. Between brackets getting busted, buzzer beaters, and upsets there is nothing but pure excitement for the entire weekend. The single elimination format allows for any team to get hot at the right moment and beat anyone. Every year there is at least one Cinderella team that the whole country can get behind and this year is no different. Oral Roberts is that team this year. After beating Florida tonight they are now the second ever 15 seed to make the sweet sixteen.  This year the tournament just feels so much better after not having one last year. The tournament is just one more thing to prove that things are starting to go back to normal. Now the weather is changing for the better and the world is slowing going back to normal what more could anyone want? Hopefully things continue to get better and better on the covid-19 front and we'll b...

Drew Brees has officially retired

Back to back retirement blogs here. This time its soon to be Hall of Fame quarterback Drew Brees. Most people could see this coming but it just feels different when it is officially announced. After the Saints most recent loss in the playoffs there was a video that surfaced of Brees telling Jamesis Winston that the Saints were his team now. Same as the last blog in that even though us fans could see it coming it still just sucks. Watching an all time great walk away from the sport is something that never gets easier.  As I said earlier, he's a sure fire first ballot Hall of Famer. He currently hold the NFL record for pass completions, completion percentage, touchdowns, and passing yards. That is basically every stat that is looked at when talking about quarterbacks. He leads almost every single category. To go beyond that he was a thirteen time pro bowler and one time all-pro. He even won a super bowl in 2010 with the Saints. The only accolade that escaped him in his career w...

Brent Seabrook has officially retired

We all knew this day was coming but I don't think we were ready for it to come in the middle of a season like this. It sucks that his career had to end this way, but there is not doubt that he leaves behind a huge legacy. He was one of the main anchors that lead this team to three Stanley Cups in six years. Not only that but he had one of the biggest goals in franchise history when he scored the game-winning goal against the Red Wings in the 2013 Western Conference Finals. Across his 15 year career he had 19 game-winning goals but none of the others match up to that one.  He will be the first one to admit that in the early years of his career he didn't care of his body the way he should have, so this is just his body saying no. The unfortunate events started with him missing most of last year in order to have two major surgeries. After his recovery period he planned on rejoining the team, but that was shut down early on in the year. He was feeling good in training camp, but s...

Cubs baseball is back!

After what seemed to be forever, baseball is finally back! The Cubs played their first spring training game yesterday and have another one today. Even though its not regular season and we can't watch all of the games it is still a good feeling to see the updates on social media. Every year I enjoy watching all of the activities that happen during the spring training games. During this time everyone is more relaxed and just focused on getting back to playing shape and enjoying their time with their team. A lot of times this is when fun activities happen that do not happen during the regular season. An example of this would be Cubs first baseman, Anthony Rizzo, bringing his dog to the field yesterday.  Overall I'm just happy that baseball is on the verge of being fully back now. Baseball has always been a summer time hobby for me so reading and seeing the news just means the summer is almost here. I'm hopeful that maybe we'll be able to watch some games in person this ye...
