Reaction to the Carson Wentz Trade

This morning Adam Schefter made the announcement that Carson Wentz had been traded to the Indianapolis Colts for a third-round and a conditional second-round pick. The conditional means that the second-round pick has the chance to turn into a first-round pick at a later date. Along with giving up Wentz the Eagles also carry a dead-money cap hit of $33.8 million dollars. Everyone knew this day was coming but no one knew when or who would be the team to land Wentz. Many had predicted the Colts ever since Phillip Rivers announced his retirement.  As a Chicago Bears fan, I can say that I'm glad the bears did not decide to try their luck on Wentz. He would be a clear upgrade at the position for them, but they have many other issues that they need to fix first. However, the Colts are set up for success and I could see Wentz thriving with them. While he did struggle mightily this past year, the Colts have a fantastic offensive line that will be able to help him stay upright. Even wi...

My thoughts on the Blackhawks

I have been a Chicago sports fan my entire life and that doesn't change when it comes to hockey. Except this passion comes a little closer to home than most. The Chicago Blackhawks minor league team, the Rockford Ice Hogs, are based out of my hometown. During my childhood I remember going to Ice Hog games being the highlight of my week. My connection to hockey is natural and I've always associated it with good times. It helped that a majority of my younger years the Blackhawks were really good. Winning three Stanley Cups in six years is nothing but impressive.  However, all good things must come to an end. While the main core of players is still around, the team hasn't made it past the first round of the playoffs in five years. But this year is showing some promise. Most people, myself included, thought this year would be another year wasted after two of their best players Toews and Dach went out hurt. However this team is full of guys wanting to prove they have what it ta...

Super Bowl LV Reaction

This past Sunday we got to witness history. For the first time in the history of the NFL a player has won seven championships. Tom Brady has solidified himself as the greatest NFL player of all time. He has more championships then any other franchise. While I won't go as far to say that he is the greatest athlete of all time he has made it clear that he is the best in the NFL. Overall this was a very interesting super bowl to watch and anticipate because of the matchup. Mainly folks myself included thought we would see a changing of the guard in terms of the next generational quarterback in the NFL. There is no question Patrick Mahomes is on track to go down as one of the greats but he fell short to Brady like so many have before.   One of the most interesting points that I've seen about Brady's career is that he is going against and beating father time. Since turning 40 he has been named to two pro bowls, selected as first team all pro once, and won two super bowls. Now...

My Love For Sports

My love for sports started when I was a little kid. Ever since I could remember all I've wanted to do was play sports or be involved with them. When I was growing up I played baseball, football, soccer, basketball, and golf. Basically any type of sport that could be played I was game to try it. I have my brother to thank for this. As many people with older siblings can tell you being competitive isn't an option it's a necessity. That being said I wanted to play and beat my brother at every sport we played.  I still carry this passion of sports with me daily, but now its in a little bit of a different style. Instead of playing so many sports I watch as many as I can on TV. During normal times that aren't ruined by COVID-19 I also enjoy spending as much time as I can attending live sporting events. I have made it my personal goal to see all of the Major League Baseball stadiums before I can no longer travel. One of the coolest sports moments of my life was being able to ...
